Bangkok - Dusit International together with its hotels and resorts across Thailand, as well as Manila, have established the Japan & Dusit - Friends Forever Appeal, to raise funds and make contributions to help Japanese residents who have been affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami. All the monetary donations raised will be presented to the Japan Red Cross by the Japanese Association in Thailand, and the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines.
From now until 18 April 2011, Dusit’s staff and guests are encouraged to make a donation through fundraising activities including Guest Donation Envelopes placed in all guest rooms and dining venues, as well as the request on check-in of THB 100 donation per night for guests to make a contribution to the appeal.
“We have always had a strong and close relationship with Japan since Dusit was founded over 60 years ago, and we are saddened to learn about the earthquake incident. We would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to everyone who has been affected by this tragedy, and we wish them a positive recovery. We sincerely believe that we can all help and the Japan & Dusit - Friends Forever appeal will help alleviate some of the difficulties, whilst at the same time raise awareness amongst the community to support our Japanese friends in this time of need,” said Mr Chanin Donavanik, Chief Executive Officer of Dusit International.
From today until 18 April 2011, all donations are welcomed at all Dusit International’s hotels and resorts across Thailand, and at Dusit Thani Manila.
